OUR OBJECTIVES OUR MISSION OUR VISION OUR NEEDS
  • To empower women/youths who are unemployed, or underemployed, or underprivileged in Ikorodu through our skills acquisition programmes
  • To empower at least, two hundred and fifty (250) youths & women in five years (5yrs)
  • To introduce beneficiaries to skills that are less capital intensive and in high demand
  • To help reduce the rate of unemployment in Ikorodu, Lagos state, and Nigeria in general.
  • To provide the underprivileged the opportunity to acquire a skill through our yearly Free Skills Acquisition Programmes
  • To identify with the Federal, State, and Local governments on same objectives.
  • To identify with international organisations having the same goal
  • To train beneficiaries to become economically self-reliant, instructors, and employers of labour
  • To make entrepreneurs out of our target groups
  • To offer general counsel
  • Women constitute over half of the economically active population of rural Nigeria. Together with men, they share the responsibility of sustaining their families through participation in all aspects of rural labor. We cannot but talk about poverty when it comes to women & girls skills acquisition and empowerment. Poverty and its symptoms are endemic in Nigeria since the vast majority of the people in our country are classified as poor especially in the least developed or developing areas of Nigeria. This has informed the introduction of skills acquisition programmes for the rural women as a way of reversing the incidence and symptoms of poverty in Nigeria. Lack of vocational training has been considered as the bane of the economy of many African countries particularly Nigeria. As it is today the number of women and female youths that should be working and are not working is higher than that of their male counterpart.Read more..
  • THE HOUSE OF EDEN-I: Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the reduction of poverty level by way of creating an enabling environment for our beneficiaries to attain economic self-sufficiency and financial independence through our skills acquisition programmes. We put in our best just to ensure that women & girls, particularly the underprivileged and the unemployed in our immediate environment are given the opportunity to acquire and develop skills which require little amount of money to start and that are in high demand. Despite all the challenges, we have resolved to be focused, not to falter, and remain committed to touching the lives of our target groups. This is what defines our vision, mission, and objectives. We pray and hope that our organisation will continue to make remarkable strides in the fight against feminized poverty and unemployment even against all odds. We also do hope and expect that the cumulative effect or impact of the quality training at the center will enhance family income, wealth creation and poverty reduction in the lives of our students.
  • (a) Sewing and Industrial machines: Your support in this regard will avail many more of our target groups the opportunity to be empowered.
    (b) Rent: Supporting this vision with cash will really help to pay rent and other relevant bills. On the other hand, supplying us with materials/equipment will help conserve cash for rent.
    (c) Training facility: Getting a larger space for training has become imperative going by the high number of our already existing students, intending students and target groups which is on the increase. Large facility will also enable us incorporate other perceived or frequently demanded, non-existent skills which will subsequently, translate to empowerment and employment opportunity for some people.
    (d) Additional instructors & remuneration: Employing extra hands to handle some of the skills is imperative going by the demand for these skills. However, what the organization can afford to pay anyone that is employed is N5,000.00 per one student trained, except for the unemployed who are required to pay N2,500.00 only in Fashion designing. The same is also applicable to the only instructor we have at the moment
    (e) Information technology (IT) & computer repairs: The need to introduce computer training has become necessary given the demand for it, but we only have one desktop, apart from the problem of insufficient training space, which is used for administrative work, as it were. In this regard, 3 computers are needed for a start.
